Jun. 6th, 2004 09:51 am Worries and Pineapple Upsidedown Cake.

Last night my beloved was out far too late for my liking. One would think I would be used to the irregular hours and life risking job duties by now, but the truth is, as often as it occurs, I never get used to it. Each time I worry just as much as the time before. Oh, I have all the faith in the wold in Moses, but that doesn't mean I worry any less.

It was 2am before he finally came in, swaggering in as if it were only 6pm. Sure, a wee suprised I was still up, but he didn't seem to mind the Pineapple Upside Down cake I had just pulled from the oven. He had the good sense not to mention the heat in the kitchen from the oven, as it was already a humid evening, although thankfully, much cooler than it had been during normal waking hours.

The one good thing about being engaged and working for a guy who owns his own business, is that's very easy to convince him to open late. I just let him think it was my idea, instead of his. Works almost every time.
